The right programme, and the way to win it

Europe offers dozens of funding instruments — the race is more competitive than ever, and applying to the wrong one wastes months. We map the landscape, pick where your project can win, and build the application that does.

Strategy

Programme scouting & funding strategy

We screen your project against the European funding landscape — EIC Accelerator, EIC Pathfinder and Transition, Eurostars, national schemes and private capital — and recommend the programme where your odds are best, with an honest go / no-go and a clear roadmap.

EU grant + equity

EIC Accelerator

The European Innovation Council's flagship programme for deep-tech SMEs: grants up to €2.5M plus equity investments of €10M and more through the EIC Fund. Highly selective — only the most convincing proposals pass the multinational jury. We build applications that do.

Next 2026 cut-offs: 2 September · 4 November
Consortia

Eurostars & collaborative projects

We structure winning European consortia and Eurostars applications. Our experience includes projects with industrial leaders and research institutions such as CEA, Inserm and Gustave Roussy — from partner search to submission.

Private capital

Investor matchmaking

Tired of the lengthy, inefficient search for investors? Through Greca, our intelligent matching tool, we connect entrepreneurs with a database of 2,500+ European and US investors actively looking for innovative ventures.

How we work

From idea to funding, in three steps

01

Assess

We evaluate your project's fit and eligibility for the right instrument — EIC, Eurostars or private capital — and give you a clear go / no-go before you invest time.

02

Build

Together with Inspiralia, our partner for grant applications across Europe, we craft the proposal, the pitch and the financials to jury standard.

03

Win

Interview preparation, jury rehearsals and follow-through until the grant agreement is signed — or the investor introduction is made.

Strategic technologies

Defence, space, critical materials — which programme for your technology?

Europe is putting unprecedented funding behind its strategic autonomy: defence and dual-use, critical raw materials, AI, space and clean tech. Each market has its own instruments — we match your technology to the one where your odds are best.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is the EIC Accelerator?

The EIC Accelerator is the European Innovation Council's flagship funding programme for deep-tech startups and SMEs. It offers grants of up to €2.5M plus equity investments of €10M or more through the EIC Fund, along with business acceleration services. It is highly selective: proposals are evaluated by multinational juries.

What are the EIC Accelerator cut-off dates in 2026?

The remaining full-proposal cut-off dates in 2026 are 2 September and 4 November. Short proposals (Step 1) can be submitted at any time and are typically processed within 4–6 weeks.

How selective is the EIC Accelerator?

Very. Only the most convincing proposals are funded after a thorough evaluation and a jury interview. That is why we give every project an honest go / no-go assessment before starting — and why we prepare our clients for the interview as thoroughly as for the written proposal.

How does ABBACO choose the right programme for my project?

We screen your project against the European funding landscape — grant size, equity needs, technology maturity, consortium requirements, deadlines — and recommend the instrument where your odds are best, before any application work starts.

Can defence or dual-use projects get EU funding?

Yes — and 2026 is a historic window. The European Defence Fund's 2026 calls total over €530M across research and development actions (deadline 29 September 2026), covering sensors, space, materials, AI, cyber, naval and air. The EIC also now welcomes dual-use technologies. We help you pick the right topic and build the consortium.

What is EIC STEP Scale-up?

The STEP Scale-up scheme, under the Strategic Technologies for Europe Platform, provides equity investments of €10–30M through the EIC Fund for European scale-ups in strategic technologies — AI, biotech, clean tech, space and digital. Submissions are rolling.

What if the EIC is not the right fit for my company?

We also structure Eurostars applications and European collaborative consortia, and we connect entrepreneurs with 2,500+ private European and US investors through Greca, our matchmaking tool.
